At Red Five Forge I take great pride in delivering the best knife-making courses possible. I am constantly refining and improving my programs to ensure every student gets the most rewarding and enjoyable experience.
Drawing on my 30-year teaching experience, I have developed a series of knife-making courses designed for students with little or no workshop experience. Each course guides you step by step as you develop new skills and create a beautiful piece of functional art that will take pride of place in your kitchen and earning you the coveted title of “Bladesmith.”
The Forge
Red Five Forge is located just outside Leiston in Suffolk, surrounded by farmland and just a mile away from some of Suffolk’s most beautiful coastline.
The workshop has been laid out with our courses in mind, so each student will have their own workstation, along with access to a high level of equipment, which includes an Anyang 25-ton forging press and both a 15kg and 50kg power hammer (to name a few). All students will make good use of the forge’s equipment but will be guided into their safe use at a pace that suits each individual and under the ever watchful eye of Will.
